Positive: I had the most wonderful stay at Taragala Chalets. Saman was so kind and looked after me so well. I felt very privileged to stay in such a beautiful place and see amazing birds in the garden and in the wetland nature reserve beside it. Nothing was too much trouble for Saman and he took me around and showed me the lovely village, the beach and Taragala Rock. The food was amazing. It was the highlight of my trip. I have very happy memories and hope to be back one day.

Positive: The location right next to the bird sanctuary is fabulous, and it is only a short walk to Taragala Rock, from here you have a perfect wiew of the whole area. The garden is an ideal place for watching birds of many kinds. Saman is very helpful, and he helped arranging a boat trip in the lagoon. The breakfast was very nice, and generous. The WiFi , aircondition, the shower all worked well. The bed was comfortable.

Negative: Nothing to be mentioned, but if you don't care for salt fish you are advised to mention it to Saman.

Summary: Great host, great location.

Positive: Taragala is such a beautiful and relaxing place to stay overlooking the bird reserve. So many wonderful birds in the garden - I could spend all day watching them from the veranda or many tranquil spots round the garden. Saman was a very attentive and kind host. Food was delicious. Didn't want to leave such a special place.

Positive: We really enjoyed our stay at Taragala. The proprietor was very friendly and helped us book a boat trip on the lagoon. He made sure all our needs were met and the food was delicious. We had Sri Lankan food for our meals and it was tasty & the portions were very generous. We were interested in birding and the property hosted quite a few species on the spot and it was located very close to where the boats docked for the lagoon trip.

Summary: A nice, quiet property in a great location for birders. Friendly staff & good food.

Positive: Saman was a wonderful host in a very special place. We absolutely loved the chalet and it's setting with a wealth of bird life to watch from the verandah. It was lovely to have our own kitchen but then also to have the opportunity to have an evening meal cooked by his next door neighbour which was very delicious. The other fabulous thing was it's location looking out over the bird sanctuary and couldn't have been better placed for the early morning boat paddled bird watching trip on the lagoon which was out of this world.

Positive: Excellent.....I can’t say a bad word about our stay with Saman at Taragala place. Superb..... We throughly enjoyed our stay. The view was excellent and lots of birds and wild life to observe as you can see the bird sanctuary 30 meters away. Ideal place for bird observing and photography. Very calm and natural friendly atmosphere..... Cabana that were nicely kept and cleaned and feel like you are in your own house. Thanks so much Taragala place.. We hope to come back and visit again soon!

Positive: Saman is the perfect host. He speaks brilliant English and his attention to detail is exceptional. The ambience at the chalet is calm and peaceful, in an exotic garden with open views to the bird sanctuary and Taragala Rock, which is a 10 minute walk away and perfect for watching the sun go down with no sounds except for birds and the sea. The chalet was tastefully furnished and decorated and spotlessly clean.

Summary: Saman has created a special place to stay in a special area, surrounded by exotic nature.
